The tech was great, did an excellent job, but Conejo Valley Home Service's prices are through the roof. I was told that I needed these caps for the AC unit. These caps are about the size of a bicycle tire cap. I needed two of them, and they were asking $120 for the two. I feel that was gouging.

The air conditioning service I received was excellent. Pablo Barreta was very professional and nice. Explained everything he was doing and answered all my questions . Gave me recommendations of things I might look into but no pressure at all. He covered his shoes coming into the house which I appreciated. Pablo is a great representative of his company.

Why You Should Get an Amp Service Upgrade

Is it worth upgrading to 200 amp service? This is a common question that homeowners ask us. Upgrading to a 200-amp service offers increased reliability, safety, and future-proofing for your property’s electrical system. Several factors can necessitate an electrical panel upgrade, including:

Modern homes and businesses in California typically have more appliances and electronics than ever before. This increased demand is likely to strain your existing electrical system, leading to overloaded circuits, flickering lights, and even electrical fires. A 200-amp panel means electrical capacity expansion as it can handle a larger electrical load. As a result, it can safely power more devices and appliances in your home, minimizing the risk of overloading and power outages.
Older homes and properties may have outdated electrical panels. These panels are not equipped to handle the power requirements of modern appliances, gadgets, and electronics.  Consider a 200 amps panel upgrade for your electrical panel to ensure your system is safe, reliable, and up to code.
Are you planning renovations or additions to your home? Consider upgrading your electrical service beforehand. This will ensure that your system can handle the additional power requirements. It makes sense to upgrade the electrical panel to 200 amps service. The cost difference between a 100-amp and 200-amp service is almost negligible, and it will help save you money, especially in the long run.

How to Know When it’s Time for an Electrical Amp Service Upgrade?

Knowing when it’s time for an electrical amp service upgrade depends on many factors. Some examples are the age of your property, the number of electrical devices or appliances you use, and signs of wear or damage to your current panel. Here are a couple of indicators that it may be time for an upgrade:

  • Frequent Circuit Breaker Trips – If your breakers trip regularly, it indicates an overloaded system, requiring an upgrade to handle the increased demand.
  • Flickering Lights – This can point to several things, such as loose connections, overloaded circuits, or an inadequate panel unable to distribute power efficiently.
  • Damage or Obsolescence – If your current electrical panel is obsolete or damaged, you should have it replaced. Did you know that the lifespan of an electrical panel’s components and parts is not infinite? It is best to replace it at least every 20 years.
  • Buzzing or Humming Sounds – These sounds originating from switches or outlets can signify faulty wiring or an overloaded panel, requiring immediate attention.
  • Warm Outlets or Switches – This is a serious safety hazard that should not be ignored. Warm outlets or switches indicate potential overheating wires, necessitating immediate action and an upgrade.
  • Outdated Panel Design – Older electric panels might not meet current safety standards. They may not have the capacity to handle modern electrical needs.
