We help you choose the right door
We handle full garage door replacement, including removal and disposal of your existing door. Garage door installation involves heavy components and high-tension systems that must be installed correctly for safe operation.
All garage door installations are performed by trained, in-house Conejo Services technicians. We install and service major brands including Amarr, Clopay, C.H.I. Overhead Doors, Ranch House Doors, LiftMaster, and more.
The right garage door depends on three things: your home’s architecture, how much you use the garage, and what you want out of the door long-term.
Start with style. Look at your home’s exterior — the roofline, trim, and front door — and choose a panel design that complements what’s already there. For example, traditional raised-panel doors work with almost any home, whereas carriage-house designs add character to craftsman and Spanish-style architecture. Modern aluminum and glass doors are popular on contemporary homes.
Material drives both budget and maintenance. Steel is the most common choice as it’s durable, available in many styles, and relatively low maintenance. Wood offers warmth and natural beauty but requires periodic staining or painting. Fiberglass and aluminum hold up better if you’re on the coast. Composite materials give you a wood look without the upkeep.
Insulation is worth thinking about even if you don’t have a finished space above the garage. For attached garages, a well-insulated door can make a noticeable difference in the comfort and efficiency of adjacent living spaces. If you use your garage as a workspace or store temperature-sensitive items, look for a door rated R-13 or higher.
Opener compatibility matters too, especially if you’re keeping an existing motor. Some doors are heavier and require a more powerful opener, and certain smart home systems work better with specific brands. If you’re upgrading the door and the opener at the same time, it’s a good opportunity to add smart home connectivity, battery backup, and myQ or similar remote access features.
